How to Submit a Farm outside of the U.S.  to be Added to PickYourOwn.org

I'm always looking for more farms to add and updated information on the farms already listed. Whether you are the owner/operator of a PYO farm, or you would like to suggest a farm that you've visited, here's how!  I only ask that the farm does allow visitors to pick the produce themselves in the field or orchard.

It's quite simple!  Just use the Suggest a Farm form to send me the following information!

(farms in the U.S., please click here for a form!)

Here's what I need to know:

Required:

  • Name of the farm
  • Location / address of the farm
  • County or province the farm is in
  • Phone number for visitors to call for information
  • What is available to pick; include variety names, too, if you can
  • Open hours and dates
  • Season - when are the crops usually ripe for picking

Optional (but really adds to your listing!):

  • Brief descriptive text about the farm, anything that makes it unique, fun, useful, etc.
  • Directions to the farm from common areas
  • Map - To make it easier for people to find your farm, I can include a map to your farm!  I need your help: Go to

then when the map showing your location comes up, just cut and paste the address into your email - To do this: put your cursor in the address section (so it is all highlighted) then right-click the mouse and select copy.  Then in your email, right-click the mouse again and select "paste")

The more complete you make your listing, the more likely people will come to pick!

It usually just takes me 1 to 3 days to get your farm added, and there is no charge.  I will be setting up some advertising pages and highlighted listings for a fee - simply to help pay for keeping the web site running, so the fee will be small - ask if you are interested!

Thanks!

Blake

Remember to ALWAYS call the farm or orchard BEFORE you go - weather, heavy picking and business conditions can always affect their hours and crops!
