California Peach Festival - 2 days in July (see their website
for this years dates)
Marysville, California. Starts Friday evening. No admission charge,
parking is also free and available at Mervyn's. Events for children and
adults alike. Bands such as "Inside Straight" performed country and rock
music. Not into country and rock music? That doesn't matter. Peaches and
pancakes served for breakfast on Saturday at the corner of 1st and D
streets in Downtown Marysville between 8:00am-11:00am.
Colorado
Palidade Peach Festival - mid August - check their website for

Palidade, CO. Phone: 970-464-7458. Four days of fun-filled, entertaining
events. With more than 100 food, art and craft vendors, great live
musical entertainment, a fantastic children’s area, various culinary
activities, numerous special events, and of course…peaches. Festivities
get underway Thursday evening, August 14 in downtown Palisade with the
Ice Cream Social and Street Dance and the “passing of the torch” between
the outgoing and incoming Town Grouch. Friday afternoon and Saturday are
highlighted by the Peach Festival at Riverbend Park with a variety of
other events taking place around town. Along with the festival in the
park, there are plenty of opportunities for a genuine Palisade
Experience throughout the four days − from guided orchard tours, to a
historical walking tour, to self-guided biking and rafting trips and the
Sunday Farmers Market.

Wyoming Peach Festival - Held the first Saturday each August
from 10 am to 4 pm
Wyoming Railroad Station, North Railroad Avenue and Broad Street,
Wyoming, DE 19934. Phone: (302) 697-3587 . The festival kicks off with a
parade through town. The downtown area is turned into an area with food
and craft vendors. Many shows take place at the railroad freight
platform during the day. If is a fun filled day for every member of the
family. Held since 1989, it also features entertainment and community
displays.
Cobden Peach Festival - First Saturday in August (August 2 in
2008)
Sponsored by the Cobden Lions Club, features carnival rides and games,
Peach Queen Contest, homemade food and peach cobbler, parade starts at

Squire Creek Louisiana Peach Festival - The fourth weekend in
June
Squire Creek, Louisiana. The Peach Festival is a family-oriented
event produced by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. Parking is
available in municipal and other lots near the festival venues. The fun
begins on Friday, June 27 and runs until dusk Sunday evening, June 29.
There’s live music in Railroad Park nightly beginning on Friday with
Bayou Crossing, followed by the return of a festival favorite, the Buddy
Terzia Band. All prices are for 2008: Friday admission: $5, ages 12 and
up; $3, ages 7-12; ages 6 and under, free. On Saturday, the Mason
Granade Band opens for festival headliner Asleep At The Wheel. Saturday
admission all day: $5, ages 12 and up; $3, ages 7-12; age 6 and under,
free. And on Sunday, enjoy an afternoon of gospel music and
old-fashioned family activities in Railroad Park beginning at noon.
There’s the Pet Show, Peach Eating Contest, and more cool stuff for
kids. Sunday admission: Railroad Park, free: Civic Center venue: $5. The
festival also features approximately 200 artisans and vendors of all
types, both at Railroad Marketplace and at the Ruston Civic Center.
There will also be helicopter rides throughout the weekend, a parade,
antique cars, a rodeo, tennis tournament, 5K run, cookery contest and
more.

Acushnet Apple-Peach Festival
- Annually in early September (just after Labor Day); in 2008:
Sept. 9 & 10
Acushnet, MA. Yard sales and farm stands line the main street of Acushnet. All
leading to the center where the real action takes place. Freshly picked produce,
homemade peach, apple, & custard, pies
and pastries to market. Along with a variety of homemade foods to select from,
including Chorizo Sandwiches.
The Wilbraham Peach Festival - held annually on a weekend in mid-August (click on the link to their
website for this year's dates) 883 Tinkham Road,
Wilbraham, MA 01095. There is a full schedule of
activities for both adults and children along with plenty of food and
exhibits. The main stage and children's tent will feature a variety of
local and regional talent, and FlippenOut Productions will make a return
appearance on Sunday. And, of course, with peach sundaes, peach bread,
peach shakes, and of course, Mr. Peach, we're sure you will have a peach
of a time! All proceeds from the Wilbraham Peach Festival go to local
community groups and scholarships.

New Jersey Peach Festival - Annually, in late July (it was July
24-28 in 2008)
4-H Fairgrounds, Route 77 South, Mullica Hill, NJ. The festival is held at
and during the annual
4H festival in Gloucester County. In addition to displays of all types
of yellow and white-fleshed peach and nectarines, there are educational
displays of peach pest management, variety development, and everything you
want to know about peaches. The annual peach bake off competition will be
held on Saturday and the Little Peaches on Parade parade for kids will be
held on Sunday. Peach cider drink and slush will complement that special New
Jersey
peach ice cream that has long been a favorite of attendees. Consumers can
also buy the best fresh New Jersey peaches, peach breads, peach pastries,
jams and jellies and peach clothing too. There are also carnival rides,
magic shows, musical acts, civil war re-enactors, a lumberjack show, a baby
parade, racing pigs, a frog and turtle race, a craft fair - lots for the

Lewistown Kiwanis Peach Festival - September 5th, 6th, 7th,
2008
Lewistown, NY. Friday through Sunday at Academy Park in the Village
of Lewiston. An old fashioned Festival complete with a parade, Peach
Shortcake, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, carnival rides (North American
Midway Entertainment) and 3 days of stage entertainment. The
festival’s grand opening will be at 5 p.m. Friday, around the same
time as the cheerleading competition gets started. On Saturday, a 5K
race will begin at 9 a.m. near Key Bank on Center Street, followed
by the roughly 2-hour parade at 11 a.m. Terry Buchwald will perform
his popular Elvis impersonation at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The peach
queen contest will be held from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
North Carolina
The North Carolina Peach
Festival - held every year on the third Saturday in July.
Candor, NC. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and the festivities take place
in the park. Bring your lawn chairs and sit back and enjoy the local
live entertainment. There is always lots of local peaches, peach ice
cream and peach desserts.
The Knott's Island Peach Festival - the last full weekend in
July every year
Knotts Island, NC. Saturday the festival kicks off with a parade at
10:00am and ends that evening at 5:00 pm.
Sunday, the park opens up again at 10:00 and the festival is over that
evening at 5:00 pm. Held on Knotts Island on the grounds of the Ruritan
Community Park on Brumley Road. There is a lot of room for parking and
people. Get some basic directions further down. Parking is free. At the
gate, there is a $5.00 admission fee (donation). Children under 12 are
admitted for free when accompanied by paying adults. This price will
admit you to the Wildlife Festival as well. There is food and drink
available for sale from various vendors and crafters and artists have

Porter Peach Festival and 5k run - in 2008: July 18th & 19th
peach cobbler, peach dessert, and peach preserves in Porter, OK at
the annual Porter Peach festival. Saturday at 1 p.m. there’ll be
free peaches and ice cream! There’s also a rodeo, bluegrass and
country bands, a golf tournament, car show, and of course, a parade.
The 2008 Miss Peach and Miss Peach Bud will also be introduced.
One visitor commented that there were few peaches or peach dishes to
be found at last year's festival.

Peach Festival- Late June or July (in 2008: June 20 to 29th)
Gaffney, South Carolina - Events including a truck and tractor pull,
concerts, entertainment, games, food, arts/craft shows, talent
competitions, and a peach parade. The South Carolina Peach Festival has
something for everyone.
Lexington County Peach Festival - Fourth of July, every year
Gilbert, SC. A typical Peach Festival day begins at 9:00 AM with the
judging of the Peachy Fruit Contest in the Gilbert Primary School
Cafetorium. There you will find peach dishes of all kinds being judged.
There is a peach auction and recognition of the oldest and youngest in
attendance. One of the main attractions is the ever-popular parade which
winds through the main streets of Gilbert beginning at 9:30 AM. There
are usually over 125 units in the Peach Festival Parade. During the day
numerous groups, bands, dance schools, and vocalists entertain on
various outdoor stages in the beautiful, shady Gilbert Community Park.
Hundreds of arts and crafts exhibitors are on hand to sell crafts --
many with "peachy" themes. There are plenty of peachy treats available
such as peach ice cream, peach tea, peach delight, peach sundaes, peach
cobbler, peach zip, peach slush, and fresh sliced peaches. The evening
Peach Queen Contest is a popular event. The Peach Festival day winds
down with the street dance and a wonderful display of fireworks.

Weatherford Peach Festival - held each year in mid-July in
Historic Downtown Weatherford
Weatherford, Texas. Weatherford is only a half hour drive from Fort
Worth. The festival is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Over 200 local vendors
set up booths near the Parker County Courthouse to sell arts, crafts,
food and activities to festival-goers. Fresh, ripe peaches are served,
as well as many other delicious offerings, such as peach pie, peach
smoothies, peach juleps, peach ice cream, and peach cobbler.
Traditionally the peach-related foods are in high demand, and they tend
to run out quickly in the early part of the festival. So if you're
coming to the festival for these treats, be sure to get there at 8:00 am
on the first day.
There is also a children's area in the Parker County Peach Festival, and
lots of entertainment. Admission is generally $5 for adults and free for
children twelve and under. Free parking is usually available nearby, in
addition to free handicap parking with a free handicap shuttle. Be sure
to check prior to each yearly festival for pricing changes. You can call

Sunday features Kiddies
Day in Okanagan Lake Park. To start Kiddies Day, witness the

11am, down Main Street, and then return back to Okanagan Lake Park,

events and entertainers, specially geared for their enjoyment.
