A visitor writes: "We had a wonderful time. We parked at the market and then we were taken, by hay ride, over to the picking site (orchard). They run every five minutes, so you knew you were not stranded. The trees are still small enough to pick some great fruit while standing on the ground (a six-foot orchard ladder was provided to pick from the taller trees). Our 14 month old son even got to pick an apple with very little help. The market has a covered picnic area so you can pick fruit in the morning, have lunch on site (B.Y.O.L.-Bring Your Own Lunch) and still get home at a reasonable hour. This facility is definitely family friendly, except for a lack of a modern bathroom (Johnny on the Spot outside market). Apple picking the way I remember, worth a trip with or without the kids."

We have a large "Fun Center" for your kids that includes hay bale "mazes" for them to play on, as well as an obstacle course for their entertainment. We also offer a "Train ride" around our farm for your kids, but there is a cost for this activity, the Fun Center is free. Our wholesale, We-pick blueberries are NOT from our farm. This is not a secret, or something we try to hide. Our pre-picked blueberries are purchased, picked up (by our employees or family) and driven home the day they are picked in either Arkansas (early summer) or Michigan (late summer). They are kept cool and fresh, and we make regular, weekly, sometimes twice weekly, trips to ensure you get top quality blueberries. However, it is a common misconception that you are not supporting our farm when you buy blueberries that are picked in Michigan or Arkansas, this is not the case. In our early years, the pre-picked were from our farm. However, now, we simply do not have enough acreage to support both the u-pick and we-pick demand, so we must supplement from Michigan and Arkansas wholesale growers. But this is still supporting our farm!. (UPDATED: June 10, 2011)

Ball home canning kit water bath canner

Home Canning Kits

This is the same type of  standard canner that my grandmother used to make everything from applesauce to jams and jellies to tomato and spaghetti sauce. This complete kit includes everything you need and lasts for years: the canner, jar rack, jar grabber tongs, lid lifting wand, a plastic funnel, labels, bubble freer, and the bible of canning, the Ball Blue Book. It's much cheaper than buying the items separately. You'll never need anything else except jars & lids!
