Looking for a Tomato festival in November 2024? There is no other listing as complete and current as this list, just updated! Tomato festivals are held through the United States, Canada, Britain, and Australia and much of the world. All the Tomato festivals we can find are listed on this page! New Jersey

Tomatoes are a warm and hot weather crop, and typically are locally harvested from, July to October. There are two general types of Tomato festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Tomato festival held at and by a farm. New Jersey, the Garden State, is still a major grower of tomatoes.  For many decades Campbell Soup made their canned tomato soup in their factory in Camden. The canned food company's tomato breeding program was responsible for developing several important varieties

Community Tomato Festivals

  • Flemington Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival - Saturday typically in late August - 12 pm to 8 pm
    Stangl Road, Flemington, NJ. the Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival is back, and moving to Stangl Road. The festival will be Saturday, August 4th (rain date August 5th) from 12 noon to 8pm. Great food, live music, fun and games for the whole family... and of course, New Jersey's finest corn and tomatos! Admission is Free. Foods with New Jersey corn and tomatoes.   • Snyder Farm Open House and Great Tomato Tasting - Typically in August,
    Please RSVP for planning purposes. For further questions, contact us at 908-730-9419. Rutgers University, the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension proudly present the annual Snyder Farm Open use and Great Tomato Tasting. This event is made possible with the assistance of the Rutgers NJAES Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteers. While features change yearly, you can always take part in the very popular tasting of more than 60 heirloom and hybrid tomato varieties. Past events have included:
    chef demonstrations featuring preparation of several tomato recipes.
    guided educational wagon tours of the farm's research plots.
    tastings of apples, basil, peaches, and honey.
    professional advice offered by the Hunterdon County Board of Health Staff on stink bugs, mosquitoes and black flies-pesky insects near and dear to local residents.
    gardening demonstrations for those interested in small, productive gardens.
  • West Cape May Tomato Festival - Late August or early September , from 9 am to 5 pm
    Wilbraham Park, West Cape May, NJ. Phone: 609-884-9325. Alternate phone: 609-884-8382. The Tomato Festival celebrates everyone's favorite fruit of summer and there are plenty of them on hand to sample- from tomato pies to empanadas. Don't forget your souvenir t-shirt! In addition to community and church festivals, some private farms have their own tomato festivals in June.  See each farm for this year's dates (they often do not announce them until the end of May).
