There are Easter Eggs hunts in almost every state in 2009!  They are great fun for families with children!  Most allow children from babies through elementary school to participant in the actual hunt, but almost all also have many other activities, music, food and entertainment for adults and older children.  The egg hunts are usually right around Easter (obviously), often late March or early April - just click on the link to the event's website to find this year's date!     Union Street - Gough to Fillmore, San Francisco, CA. The annual event celebrates and showcases the diverse community of San Francisco and features some of Union Street's best restaurants serving attendees in an outdoor bistro setting.   • Copper Mountain - Colorado's Largest Easter Egg Hunt - Easter Sunday
    50,000 Easter Eggs will fill the Village and Mountain this Easter Sunday at Copper Mountain. There will be an all ages hunt on the mountain and two kids hunts in the village. The "Bunny Race" has been an Easter tradition for more than 30 years for children ages 10 and under.   • White House Easter Egg Roll - Date: Easter Monday, from 8 am to 2 pm
    Rolling hard-boiled colored eggs down the lawns at the White House goes back at least 125 years. Originally, families gathered on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol, but the effects of so many picnicking, egg-rolling children caused Congress to forbid the grounds to be used as a playground. Fortunately, in 1878 President Rutherford was persuaded to shift the fun to the White House lawn. (Read more about this history.) The Egg Roll is now the largest public event at the White House, attracting some 40,000 visitors. The event is free; you'll need timed passes, though, by the National Park Service. North

  • Great Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt - Wednesday, April 8, 2009
    Cumbria. The biggest egg hunt in the North. Search for 100 ceramic eggs hidden across and if you find one of 10 special editions, you could win a prize, including a family break.
  • Norton Priory Museum & Gardens - 13 and 14 April, 1pm-4pm.
    Cheshire. Traditional Easter drop-in activities are on offered. Make a pecking hen, a pair of floppy ears, then hit the Easter Bunny Trail.
  • Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden - 13 April, 2pm-2.45pm.
    North Yorkshire. Easter Eggsploits, including a Decorated Egg Competition, Egg Rolling Contest and a Cadbury's Egg Trail, will take place at Bring your decorated egg and another hard-boiled one to race.
  • Down at the Farm -
    near Durham. Egg throwing and rolling and an Easter panto, feed the newborn lambs, cuddle up with baby chicks or even wash the pigs.

Greater London

  • Linford Manor Park  - Tuesday, April 6, 2009
    Buckinghamshire. There's an Easter Eggs-travaganza going on at Follow the egg trails in the search for chocolate, make your own bunny ears, pair animals and birds with their offspring or eggs and decorate your own egg to take home.
  • Arlington Court - Easter Sunday and Monday
    Barnstaple. Follow an Eggtastic Easter Trail around the National Trust Gardens. Each trail costs £2 plus the normal admission. On Easter Sunday and Monday there will be face painters and an entertainer, all sponsored by Cadburys. Phone: 01271 850296.

  • Llanberis Lake Railway - 10-14 April,
    With your paid ticket for the narrow-gauge steam train, have  a ride and hunt the eggs hidden in locations along the railway and in the stations – and look out for the white rabbit.

Northern Ireland

  • Easter Family Day and Craft Fair at Castle Ward in Co Down - 12 and 13 April (Easter Monday)
    There are activities and craft sessions for the whole family, as well as egg trails and a special Egg Hunt on  the 12th. On 13 April, watch the Easter Parade, with its themed floats, and lots of other family fun, from noon till 6pm on the Bangor seafront. Also see the Novice Ireland Strongest Man contest or take a ride along the promenade on Lennie the Land Train.
