North Carolina Blackberry Festival - Saturday, July

Blackberry Festival will be in downtown Lenoir beginning at 10 a.m.
Lineberger Farms will be onhand during the day with fresh
blackberries for sale, along with other blackberry items. A variety
of food vendors will be available and local restaurants will be
open. Children's activities all day; a children's area will offer
free fun throughout the day on the Square sponsored by the Family
Resource Center in Lenoir.
- McLoud Blackberry
Festival - first weekend (Friday and Saturday) in July: open 5pm to midnight; 8am to midnight with fireworks at

[email protected]. The festival began in the 1940's as
a celebration of the end of harvest season for the local cash farm
crop, blackberries. The town received national media coverage when
the Blackberry Growers Association sent a crate of berries to
President Harry Truman. The association disbanded in 1963 due to a
poor market and farmers moved on to a more lucrative crop. While
blackberry farming may no longer be the agricultural strength of McLoud, the festival celebrated each year continues to be an
exciting event for the town and draws thousands of attendees from
throughout the nation.
Illinois Valley Wild Blackberry & Arts & Crafts Festival -
August, Saturday, 9am - 6pm and Sunday, 9am - 4pm.
Cave Junction, Oregon. Held in early-August, every year, just as the
native Oregon wild blackberries ripen. Many food items for sale at
the festival feature the blackberry as a primary ingredient.
Blackberry themes are also evident on many of the visual art and
craft items sold.
Sutherlin Blackberry Festival -
Sutherlin, Oregon. A fun blackberry festival with events like mud
volleyball and a classic car cruise, there is guaranteed to be an
event for anyone. Start Friday off dancing at Dakota St. Shopping
Center parking lot to the new band The Valley Boys, who will be
entertaining the BlackBerry Festival this year. They put on great
shows that include audience interaction, stage antics and dynamic
lighting. Saturday, enjoy a huge car show, BlackBerry cook-off, mud
volleyball, BMX races, four wheel drive Barrel Races and lots of
entertainment in the park including food and craft booths. Top the
evening off with the classic car cruise and a dance in the streets
of Sutherlin.The fun continues on Sunday with the motorcycle show,
chili cook-off, diaper derby, and of course, the mud races. Along
with food, activities and entertainment there will also be several
prize drawings. Don't miss your opportunity to win one of this
years' many fantastic prices.
Blackberry Festival - Saturday, June

Blackberry Festival claims to have the "World's Best Blackberry
Pie." With a day of activities planned by the Lynnville Community
Club and the Town of Lynnville, who are organizers of this
festival. Billie May and RTM Productions are the sponsors of the
festival. Vendors of all types will be set up on the Lynnville
Square selling their wares. (If you would like a booth, call

walks, bouncy castles, a rock wall to climb, and Mencer's Pony
Rides. For a cost of $6/plate, blackberry pie, beans and poke
salad will be available in the Lynnville Municipal Building from
11 am to l p.m. . Blackberry pie, by itself is $2.

Blackberry festival is an event held the first weekend of August in
the Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort, WV. Our objectives include
promoting free entertainment in a family friendly atmosphere.
Directions: From I-79 Exit 115, go north on Route 20 toward
Clarksburg, go about 2 1/2 miles. Park is on the right just past the
traffic light. From US Route 50 Exit at the Clarksburg Joyce Street
Exit, follow Route 20 South about 2 1/2 miles, past Route 98, to the
park on the left.
Powell River Blackberry Festival - August

fruit that grows wild everywhere in Powell River, the Blackberry
Festival is an annual week-long tradition. Check out live
music and visual artists during Arts Alive in the Park (at
Willingdon Park), enjoy the Festival of Lights fireworks display,
sample puppet shows or pie-eating contests during Townsite Day,
or chow down at the community BBQ. The festival's signature
dessert is blackberry shortcake topped with whipped cream. The
Blackberry Festival Street Party is mid August on Marine Avenue ,
and is an annual celebration of the blackberry includes a
multitude of events around town, highlighted by a massive street
party along Marine Avenue on Friday, August 15 from 6 pm to 10 pm.
