A visitor writes on June 13, 2009: "I went to Adamek Orchards after calling and finding out on their answering machine that there were no more peaches for this year and that the blackberries were still available. I believe going early in the morning for any fruit pays off since it isn't too hot and no one else is likely to have picked over them. My experience on June 15th was a pleasant one. My children and I picked almost 35 pounds in just a couple fun hours. They owners were not around, but had plenty of signs advising pickers where to pick up buckets and pick blackberries. My family's sympathy goes out to the Adamek's as we have learned that the owner, founder, and heart of Adamek Orchards passed in October. "
A visitor writes on June 13, 2009: "The peaches were sparse and rotten. Couldn't find any blackberries, and no one was around to ask. We had checked the website and called prior - no mention of moldy, buggy peaches in either place. Very disappointing - we drove a long way. "

Home Canning Kits

This is the same type of  standard canner that my grandmother used to make everything from applesauce to jams and jellies to tomato and spaghetti sauce. This complete kit includes everything you need and lasts for years: the canner, jar rack, jar grabber tongs, lid lifting wand, a plastic funnel, labels, bubble freer, and the bible of canning, the Ball Blue Book. It's much cheaper than buying the items separately. You'll never need anything else except jars & lids!
